Not much going on ....

Well not too much is really going on. The winter months are pretty slow for the family due to weather conditions. This January thus far we have been having amazing weather. We have been experiencing 75+ degree days for over two weeks. It's so uncommon for Redding. The bad news is the lake isn't getting any water and it is at recored lows that were last set in the 1970's. Not only is the lake not getting any water the ski park isn't getting any snow. Boy am I glad I didn't by a season pass this year. Last report the lodge only has about 1 ft of snow.

Heather informed me yesterday that Alexis has a double ear infection. This is one tough little girl because she never complains about anything. She woke up and said her ear hurt and she had a fever so Heather decided to take her to the doctor. When checked out both ears are infected. So now she has 10 days of yucky tasting medicine to take.

Stephanie had an amazing experience at dinner the other night. She was out with a group of 8 friends and some random stranger payed the entire bill for the group. He told the waitress that someone did it for him and a group of friends when he was younger and he wanted to repay the favor to another group of young adults. This made quite an impression and Stephanie and she said someday she plans to do the same.

Till next time .....

I am Blessed!

As many of you know William has an incredible gift of woodworking. The recipients of his talents are many (of which I am not included .... YET!!). When Alexis was born he decided that she needed a crib and dresser built by her Papa ... an amazing beautiful crib and dresser came out of the workshop. Alexis didn't have much to do with sleeping in her crib as it was not her favorite sleeping spot (next to mommy was much better in her opinion). That's okay because along came Taylor and she was more than happy to sleep in the crib. Well .... now that Taylor is almost 2 Papa once again went into his workshop and produced 2 beautiful twin beds for our adorable granddaughters. Let me tell you a house could probably fall of these beds and not destroy them. They don't move an inch once they were assembled.
Alexis was very excited when she heard Papa was building her a big girl bed .... every time they came over she would run to the shop to see Papa and her bed. It was fun to see her eyes light up during the process. Taylor was excited too but she just doesn't express it like her sister. When Heather was out shopping for new bedding and the sales clerks would ask if she is finding everything Alexis would tell them her Papa is building her a bed .... Heather said it was VERY CUTE. When I ask the girls how they like their beds Taylor gets a big smile and says PAPA!! They will be treasures for life for these two lucky girls. Next project out of Will's Workshop .... a dresser for Taylor (just like her sisters).

1 Week In!

It has been a week since we rang in the New Year! Yippee! I can honestly say this week was no different than last week or the week before. William and I went off to our same jobs and Stephanie went to Las Vegas for two weeks with Jordan and all 11 of his family members. It was a trip that was planned months in advance and as the time got closer to leave the excitment built .... well after about 5 days she was so ready to come home. Being cooped up in a motel with 11 people is not her way to spend a vacation. After many phone calls of sadness I did an on-line search of "FREE Things to do in Vegas" (what's a mother to do when her baby is sad?) and sent them to her and things got a little bit better. They finally stepped out of the comforts of the motel and did some sight seeing. She will return on Sunday the 11th and hopefully she will have had a good time and will bring home many pictures. I have missed her!
